General Mills Foundation UNCF

Nominate a 2010 Local Legend

(Deadline: November 25, 2009)

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Breakfast will present the annual Local Legend community service recognition program on Monday, January 18, 2010, at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast committee is pleased to recognize outstanding community leaders who represent Dr. King’s dream: a testament that a dream is a growing reality.

The committee has embraced the King Center’s six steps for nonviolent social change to aid in the selection process. The six steps are information gathering, education, personal commitment, negotiation, direct action and reconciliation. The persons recognized for community involvement will receive complimentary tickets to attend the breakfast and a special memento depicting this honor.

We invite you to nominate an individual or individuals who demonstrate community involvement based on the six steps for nonviolent change. Please complete the online nomination form. You may also download and fill out this form and submit your nomination via U.S. mail postmarked no later than November 25, 2009 to:
